Learn How to Get the Rates You Deserve From Being a Frequent Traveler

Author: ren stanley

Ever wonder why hotel rates fluctuate? One of the determining factors in this price flux
is demand and supply. Just because rates are high doesn’t necessarily mean that the hotel is short on rooms. I can’t stand it when I get to my hotel and I am immediately at the mercy of the front desk person, who might I add is making about ten dollars an hour. Prices are higher for those who are desperate for a room because the front desk people are instructed to follow a price guideline. In other words, there are at least three different rates available at any particular hotel of your choosing. First being the walk-in rate; this rate is usually the highest rate available. Why is this? Well, mainly because the walk-in rate is usually the least negotiated. There are several different ways to negotiate with a front desk clerk, however, do not waste your time. They are not the final decision maker, so don’t settle for the “walk-in rate” but rather you should play hard to get with someone who understands how valuable of an asset you actually are for the hotel; for example, the hotel manager, who most likely has a degree in business management and understands his or her role in your visit.
Let me explain something so it is CRYSTAL clear. Hotels are never fully booked. There are some extremely rare circumstances where hotels are truthfully, completely full. I have experienced this rare instance once, and pretty recently in my life. I was trying to get a hotel room in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada). Out of all the places in the world, Saskatoon should never be fully booked. However, on October 24th 2007 Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie decided that their concert was more important than my nights stay before my a.m. flight back to Atlanta the following morning. So hence, another tip: “Always ask your hotel clerk if there are any big events scheduled during your projected stay.”
Back to my original point, Hotels rarely are fully booked. Your best bet in negotiating would be to have some sort of bargaining chip on your side. AAA members are usually discounted on hotel stays, flight prices, and other travel discounts. Additionally, credit card companies also offer travel discounts, reward points, etc. for using their service but are usually asking you to spend a lot on your card before receiving these “rewards.” I know many folks out there feel as if they are pretty travel/internet savvy. I know I did and still do, particularly now. I’ve found a way to travel as an insider, take trips that normally my wife and I couldn’t afford, and doing more of what I like doing, TRAVELING, Seeing the World we live in. I spent a few years in the army “traveling” and I “visited” at least eight different countries on this planet. These experiences put fuel in my veins and energy to get out of a routine and live this life we’ve been so blessed to have to the fullest. So I encourage all my readers to GET UP, GET OUT, and SEE THE WORLD.
My name is Ren Stanley and I own an online travel agency. Imagine if you owned Travelocity or a little piece of the revenue from Expedia or Priceline.com. My wife and I do, we are sole proprietors. (Well “dual proprietors” technically). We receive 60% of the vendor commissions booked through our site. Take a look at the link below. As travel agents we visit places that we normally would have never considered. (Paris, Germany, Ireland, etc.) Not to mention awesome stateside last minute rates www.oceansplus.com

Eligibility:
• If you live in any of the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Caribbean, and the Bahamas what is it that you want me to say, (que es lo que tu queires que te diga?) you are good to go.
If you have questions, I will be happy to assist you, however if you email me it may take up to five days for a response. Like I said earlier, we are sole proprietors we get pretty busy typing. If you’ve made it this far and believe I am bogus, I will email you my itinerary for my Alaska Trip. My flight was about 700 dollars. Go to any travel site today and check the rates from ATL to Anchorage in July 2008 and you'll see what I mean. Join the Renegades and find out how to fly, sleep, eat, rent, etc. for much less. This is one of the best kept secrets in travel today. God Bless, Ren Stanley

About the Author:
Ren was born and raised in Macon, GA. At 25 he is happily married to his lovely wife (whose name will go unmentioned due to the paranoia of internet posts). Ren joined the army in 2005 and has traveled all over the world. He figured it only made sense to do what he loved when he got out, which is actually seeing the world we live in rather than read about it or watch it on TV. So now, honorably discharged, Ren has found a way to show others how he’s benefited from his learning. As travel savvy as he once thought he was, Ren realized there had to be a way to travel more often; and in order for that to happen prices had to be reasonable. After all, we are the real asset to the vendors out there.
